ANΩ Chapter 10 - do they have a terrorist link?

The Adamas Nu Omega was organized last August 28, 1976 where many of our Muslim brothers were executed during onslaught campaign in Mindanao. Muslim states whose leaders expressed their concern for Moros in the Philippines through the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). Muhammar Khadafy and the rest of Muslim Brotherhood were seriously alarmed by the crackdown in Mindanao.

The OIC however is not a monolith. It has a conservative, moderate and radical camps and its handling of dispute often depend on which member state plays role. In the dispute between the Philippine government and the MNLF, radical Libya and conservative Indonesia played crucial roles until “peace talk” was done under the 1976 Tripoli Agreement, in accordance with the Resolution No.4 Paragraph 5, adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Islamic Conference in its 4th Session held in Benghazi, Libyan Arab Republic during the month of Safar 1393-H. Corresponding to March 1973, calling for the formation of Quadripartite Ministerial Commission representing Libyan Arab Republic, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of Somalia, to enter into discussion with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines concerning the situation of our Muslim brothers in the South of the archipelago.

After the PEACE AGREEMENT, the MNLF split into many cell and the big contingent joined the MILF and the rest move to Afghanistan and other Muslim troubled state, while others go to different part of the country and they start regrouping and establish friendship with the Christian’s and some organized school fraternities.

In 1976 the Adamas Nu Omega was organized by six student’s recruits in University of the East however two of them declined to participate upon knowing that one of them a is connected from Mindanao abusayaff. Grace Sunga and Edwin Quiroz and Cresente Mercado continue until they know the results of their task and run-away to escape prosecution. Many of them quit from the organization.

Malic Tagoranao continue to establish the Adamas Nu Omega Fraternity and Sorority while the organization is in trouble. Many of the members become drug addicts, murderers and hold-upper. They become one of the most notorious fraternities in Manila.

In 1980’s, many of our Muslim ANO-fraternity member’s returned back to Mindanao and join with the Muslim Jihad’s to defeat Christian Crusaders who malnourish the resources of the moroland. And in 1991, The Abu Sayyaf Group-ASG was formed by Abdulrazak Janjalani who came from Afghanistan but he was neutralized in 1998 by the 59st Army Battalion.  After his death Khadafy Janjalani watch, the Abu Sayyaf claimed to be fighting to remove Christian influence from moroland, after his death, Khadafy Janjalani seems to have let the Abu Sayyaf Group degenerated into just another kidnap-for-ransom gang. Unlike Abdulrazak who was an explosive expert who fight for Jihad in Afghanistan.

The organizational structure of a group determines its strengths and weaknesses. A general knowledge of the prevalent models of terrorist organizations leads to a better understanding of their capabilities. Knowledge of the different labels and systems of classification that have been applied to groups and individuals aid us in discarding useless or irrelevant terms, and in understanding the purposes and usefulness of different terminologies.

Terrorists may organize cells based on family or employment relationships, on a geographic basis, or by specific functions such as direct action and intelligence. The terrorist group may also form fraternity and sorority cells. The terrorist uses the cells to control its members. Cell members remain in close contact with each other to provide emotional support and to prevent desertion or breach of security procedures. The cell leader is normally the only person who communicates and coordinates with higher levels and other cells in Middle East.

A terrorist group may form only one cell or may form many cells that operate locally or internationally. The number of cells and their composition depend on the size of the terrorist group. A terrorist group operating within one country frequently has fewer cells and specialized teams than does an international terrorist group that may operate in several countries.

The Adamas NU Omega have their new cell that operates in Middle East, they called this the “Moonstone Chapter”

In recent times, the popular image of a fraternity group operating according to a specific political agenda and motivated by ideology or the desire for ethnic or national liberation dominated our understanding of terrorism. While still true of some fraternal organizations, this image is no longer universally valid. Also, a generational change in leadership of established groups is in many cases ushering in a more a destructive and relentless type of fraternal organization.

The smallest elements of fraternal organizations are the cells that serve as building blocks for the terrorist organization. One of the primary reasons for a cellular or compartmentalized structure is security. The compromise or loss of one cell should not compromise the identity, location, or actions of other cells. A cellular organizational structure makes it difficult for an adversary to penetrate the entire organization. Members within one cell are often unaware of the existence of other cells and, therefore, cannot divulge sensitive information to infiltrators who they called FAKE.
